Where to Stay Tonight

Tallinn (near airport or city center) (Hotel)

For an early departure or a relaxed final evening, staying in Tallinn provides maximum convenience for transport links.

If time is tight, focus on just Palmse Manor and the Viru Bog walk—they offer the best contrast of culture and nature. Download offline maps as cell service can be spotty in the park.
Day 2 Budget: $150

Practical Information

Getting Around

Day 1 is entirely walkable within Tallinn's compact Old Town. For Day 2, renting a car is highly recommended for flexibility in Lahemaa National Park (1-hour drive from Tallinn). Alternatively, book a guided day-tour bus which handles transport but follows a fixed schedule. Tallinn's public transport is excellent for getting to/from the airport.

Book Ahead

Accommodation in Tallinn, in summer. A rental car for Day 2. Consider booking a guided walking tour for Day 1 if desired.

Packing Essentials

Comfortable walking shoes, waterproof jacket, layers for changeable weather, power adapter (EU plug), swimsuit (if your hotel has a sauna).

Total Budget

$285-330

Customize Your Trip

Budget Version

Stay in a hostel, use public buses to reach Lahemaa (slower, requires planning), enjoy picnics from supermarkets, and focus on free activities like walking the city walls and bog trails. Skip the manor museum interiors and admire from outside.

Luxury Upgrade

Stay at a 5-star hotel like the Three Sisters in Tallinn. Charter a private guide/driver for Lahemaa. Dine at Michelin-recommended NOA Chef's Hall. Book a spa treatment at a historic manor like Vihula or book a stay there instead of returning to Tallinn.

Family-Friendly

Visit the interactive Estonian Maritime Museum in Seaplane Harbour on Day 1 instead of a full walking tour. In Lahemaa, kids love the bog walk and the open-air exhibits at the fishing village. Consider the Rocca al Mare Open-Air Museum near Tallinn as an alternative to Lahemaa if time is limited.
